YouTube 2021

YouTube Premium has remained one of my few paid subscriptions. It removes all ads, enables listening to downloaded content with the phone screen off, and includes access to YouTube Music. The Family plan is an even better deal.

Here’s my 2021 list of favourite channels.

Indigo Traveller

“Travelling misunderstood parts of the planet showing the human side of what we read in the headlines.”

Nick travels to countires that most ‘travellers’ stay away from. He focuses on talking to the local people, asking about their daily lives and the impact of the political situation.

Kirsten Dirksen

“Videos about simple living, self-sufficiency, small (and tiny) homes, backyard gardens (and livestock), alternative transport, DIY, craftsmanship, and philosophies of life.”

Kirsten films inventive houses and apartments around the world. There seems to be no limit to people’s creativity when it comes to reimagining limited or disused spaces.

Lex Fridman

Favourite podcast – science, philosophy, politics, technology.

Andrew Huberman

“Topics discussed include neuroscience (e.g., brain function, neuroplasticity, neuro-technologies and practical applications of neuroscience)”

Second favourite podcast – neuroscience and science-related tools.

Planeta Abstrakcja

If you understand Polish, you’re in for a treat. Ola and Borys travel all over Asia, speaking all the local languages, making friends wherever they go.

Willem Verbeeck

Favourite analogue photography channel.

Francis Cade

“Riding and racing bikes around the world, exploring cycling culture where I can.”
